Framing a Ghost

The idea of moving away from the 2D picture plane and into a 3D space.

Using a metal welded framework clothed in a fine semi opaque paper material. The front face of the frame to have the haunting motif printed as a silkscreen image.

Installing the actual ‘jacket’ into the frame by means of clear elastic nylon thread. This will be done once the frame is resolved.

I had originally intended making this structure from acrylic sheet. However the scale required a cost effective approach. Also, the acrylic would reveal the interior too easily.

Making the ‘shroud’ for the frame. This was possibly over engineered but adding seams into the material gave the piece a sense of form rather than being simply a drape…
