Photo Lithography
In Unit 2 my work resolved into large scale digital prints. This is a thrilling way to see images that involve the figure. The chance to view the image life size is compelling and facilitates an eye level conversation with the piece.
However, reflecting back to Unit 1, the power of the Polaroid image remains in my minds eye. This influence of size was reiterated when visiting Francesca Woodman’s artist room at the Tate. (See here)
So what if I take my Shaman and bring him down into a the intimate space of a standard photo format?
As the material exists as a digital composition I have the option to take it at least three ways to explore this size consideration; photopolymer, photo lithography or digital prints. Those are the process that I will explore.
Photo Lithography because I would like to see the difference to photopolymer. Having had no real experience of this medium I decided to take my image, create a paper version and explore the technique.
The process and outcomes will be explored further in documentation.
