Screen Print

And finally... I will take the jacket into screen printing. The purpose is to enable me to overlay an eternal spectre atop a monoprint. The image has been processed and is ready.

Initially, I thought I would transfer the ‘pure’ image to screen print. The intention was then to erase and manipulate it to create a fleeting ghost.

Having worked in etching and trying to ‘interfere’ with the print, I have realised that it is almost a waste of my time. The image I have created in Photoshop is what I am aiming to recreate. Bending the process solely to fit my image is proving to be restrictive.

So I’m going to begin with where I want to end up. This involves using the concept image as the foundation for my screens. I’m also preparing a screen so that I can create an acid resist of the jacket.

The plan for today is to print on paper, plastic, and satin. I want to feel the ghost coming through the medium. When I see it, I will know.
