Digital Print

Whilst visiting the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam I became aware of two artists Att Veldhoen and Karel Appel who used this medium.

I am going to ‘borrow’ this format for my beginnings of Unit 1: Nov - Dec.

My thinking is;

Take a mannequin and dress it in an RAF jacket.

Stage a corner of a room and place the mannequin in much the same way as the Ghost of Spurrigg End appeared.

Once I have the stage set, I can then move the mannequin towards the camera in much the same way as the ghost appeared. From this point I should have a series of several images that I can scan raw…. Then doctor the actual Polaroid and scan again. The initial scan will allow me to return to a clean image….

I intend to add the 1970s bedroom pattern as well as the atmospheric ‘fog’ that obscured the ghost.

I’d like to blow these images up and take them through into print in some way…. To be decided.
