Scriptwriting
Thoughts for the Research Festival.
I've told this story before, but how do I make it slightly less narrative and slightly more performative?
One to One
Following on from the Performance and Podcasting lecture, I booked a one-to-one tutorial with Sharon Young.
Screen printing the package.
First proof of the package for my pattern. I’ve tested several digital print mockups, but now it’s time to screen print the design for real.
Performance Workshop.
I had always known that the great Greek orators used walking as a means of learning their speech and delivering knowledge. This workshop with Sharon Young mentioned this but that was only a small part of a very informative workshop.
Ithell Colquhoun
My first visit to the Ithell Colquhoun exhibition left me disappointed. Since it was my first encounter with this artist and the subject matter was meaningful, I decided to revisit the work.
Sidney Nolan Exhibition.
Invitation to meet Antony Mottershead and Sophie Heath from the Sidney Nolan Trust. A perfect opportunity to see Nolan’s paintings.
Which process?
There are many ways to print an image. Choosing which method is not always straightforward.
How to print the “Shaman- Pattern”?
Having made the costume I am now having ti think about how to translate the design into a pattern. This is all part of my proposal for the Research Festival
Photo Lithography
Having had no real experience of this technique, I decided to take my image and explore the possibilities.
Vanessa Bell
Vanessa Bell exhibition - Form and Colour.
Held at Charleston in Lewes, the sister gallery to Charleston in Firle, Sussex.
Francesca Woodman
Having gallery access to a selection of Francesca Woodman’s work is such a bonus. Standing in front of an actual photograph taken by the artist gives a new perspective on her work.
Sketchbook
Future proofing:
My sketching and landscape drawing could do with some input. With that in mind, I plan on loosening up and simply enjoying pushing my daily sketching practice.
Every day I walk my dog, so why not use this time creatively? I am going to follow a simple walking and drawing process to encourage swift loose mark making. I will update this diary entry with progress. How exciting. It may feed directly into my printmaking practice, but I am not going to force it.
Just let it flow.
